Пианист Никита Галактионов

Nikita Galaktionov has been a phenomenon of the musical stage since making his Moscow debut at the age of eight. He slaughtered the competition at his first international competition at 13, after which he made the profoundly unusual and graceful decision to step back from competitions as such. He has continued to shape his own career by making daring choices that include his selection of staple composers, as well as his approach to their work, appearing both as a pianist and as an actor in a 2014 music video of Liszt that got over 760,000 views and was heatedly debated. He has proffered interpretations of classics such as Rachmaninoff’s 2nd Piano Concerto that have challenged the status quo, and sustained detours in his educational trajectory as a byproduct of this spirit of active inquiry that would have devastated someone with less tenacity. Due to the pandemic, he will sadly not be able to appear this season live at Carnegie Hall, where he has been a guest for several consecutive years.
