Under the name of BERKUTSCHI the ski jump community presents itself with new looks. Partner adidas helped FIS race director Walter Hofer to realise a long-held idea. The Berkutschi, the eagle men of Central Asia, have fascinated FIS race director Walter Hofer for a long time. “When I saw a documentary about the Berkutschi, how they align themselves with training Eagles and how they pass their knowledge from one generation to the next, I immediately thought of the ski jump circuit and our coaches. I liked the word ‘Berkutschi’ and thought that this was a great name with a deeper meaning. The Berkutschi are a small, exotic people and we are a small but unique sport.
